Cancellation & changes

If the event changes or is cancelled

Last updated October 1, 2026. What happens to your ticket when an organizer cancels, postpones or moves an event — and how to cancel an order you placed.

1. If the event is cancelled

The moment an organizer cancels, sales stop and nothing further can be bought. We email every ticket holder with the organizer's reason.

Every paid order is refunded in full — ticket, add-ons, processing fee and tax — to the original payment method. You do not need to request it. Card refunds are released within 5 business days of the cancellation and appear on your statement 5–10 business days after that; e-Transfer and cash refunds are returned within 10 business days. Unpaid e-Transfer orders are closed with nothing owed.

2. If the event is postponed or moved

If the date, time or venue changes, we email every ticket holder with the new details. Your ticket stays valid for the new date or venue — you do not need a new one.

If you cannot attend, email us within 14 days of our notice (or before the new date, whichever comes first) and we will refund you in full. After that window the organizer's ordinary refund terms apply.

3. If part of the event changes

A change to the line-up, running order, set times, seating area or supporting acts is not a cancellation and does not, on its own, entitle you to a refund, unless the organizer says otherwise. Where a headline act is replaced, the organizer will say so and will normally offer a refund window; we will email you.

4. Events beyond anyone's control

Weather, a public-health order, closure of the venue, a strike or a similar event may force a cancellation or postponement. Sections 1 and 2 still apply: cancelled means refunded; postponed means your ticket carries over, with a refund if you cannot make the new date.

5. Cancelling an order you placed

  • Unpaid e-Transfer order: simply do not send the transfer. The order closes on its own after 14 days. Email us if you would like it closed sooner.
  • Paid order: this is a refund request, and our Refund Policy applies, including any deadline in the organizer's terms shown on the event page.
  • You cannot go, but someone else can: transfer the ticket free of charge from your ticket link instead of cancelling. The new holder gets their own code and yours is retired.

6. How we contact you

By email, to the address on your order. Keep it current — you can correct it from your ticket link. Check your junk folder and add [email protected] to your contacts so that a cancellation or change notice does not get missed.

7. For organizers

Cancelling an event stops sales immediately, notifies every buyer, and starts the refund process; refunds are released by Ticketry against the event's balance. Talk to us before cancelling — a postponement usually keeps most of the room, and we can send the notice for you.
