Cookie policy
The cookies ticketry.ca uses, and why
Last updated October 1, 2026. There are few of them, none are for advertising, and this page lists every one with its purpose and lifetime.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so that it can recognise you on the next page. Browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) does a similar job but is never sent back to the server. Where either can identify you, Canadian privacy law treats it as personal information, and so do we.
2. What ticketry.ca uses
Strictly necessary. These make the site work. They track nothing, and we do not ask for consent for them because checkout cannot function without them.
- cankivo_locale — cookie — remembers the language you chose, if you chose one. Lifetime one year. Only set when you pick a language.
- kivo-events:cart:… — session storage — holds the tickets you are in the middle of buying, so that a page refresh does not lose your selection. Cleared when you close the tab. The hold itself expires after 10 minutes.
- __cf_bm, cf_clearance — cookies set by Cloudflare — tell people apart from automated traffic and protect the site from attacks. Lifetime up to 30 minutes; cf_clearance up to one year, and only after a security challenge.
- __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid — cookies set by Stripe — fraud prevention on the card payment form. Set only when the card form loads. Lifetime one year and 30 minutes respectively.
Preferences.
- cankivo_nl_popup:… — local storage — remembers that you closed the newsletter sign-up so that it does not reappear. Holds a timestamp, not your identity.
Staff only. Never set in a visitor's browser.
- cankivo_preview — cookie — lets Ticketry staff preview an unpublished page. Lifetime eight hours.
- Door-scanner storage — local storage on the devices our door staff use, so that scanning keeps working if the venue's connection drops.
3. What we do not use
ticketry.ca uses no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no social-media pixels and no cross-site tracking. If we add a measurement tool in future, this page will be updated first, and the tool will be configured without advertising features.
4. Third-party content
When you pay by card, the card form is served by Stripe inside our page; Stripe's cookies are listed above. If an event page embeds a map or a video from another provider, that provider may set its own cookies when the embed loads; the organizer chooses whether to include one, and the provider's own policy applies to it.
5. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop checkout from working. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab.

- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
